Gambit Design Jam Day 1

The art department at Self Aware Games had an art jam to concept for the card battler game "Gambit." I wanted to create several cohesive teams that really varied from each other. These were done very quickly in about six hours so they're very sketchy.
I get really bored with traditional "armies," and wanted to come up with different takes on that concept.

The Unsettled were supposed to be about card recycling mechanics.
Their imp servants use blue magic to revive the more notable ancestors from their family crypts filled with long-dead kings and despots. Yes that's basically Animus.

Party Barge - I love the idea of a fun troll team that shoots deadly confetti canons and boosts teammates with thumping jams and jello shots.

The Destructagons - I was thinking maybe all neutral spells could be a singular faction - some bizarre, alien time travelers who show up, unleash devastating hell, and peace out. Maybe they’re inadvertently destroying their own ancestors.

Softball Furies = Hunger games + Warriors + Mad Max. I wanted to draw a lot more genetically engineered mascots.

The Seraphim - I just like the idea of sending out happy heralds of the apocalypse while you save up for really destructive but resplendent eldritch horrors.
